Cybersecurity & Network Administrator

We’re a team of specialized experts, dedicated to first-class customer service and claims assistance. We’re looking for a Cybersecurity & Network Administrator to join our team, in our Richmond, BC office.

TuGo is privately owned with headquarters in Richmond, BC. We have over 170 employees in offices across Canada.

What you'll do

You are responsible for the day-day network and security operations, implantation and management of information systems. You are responsible for providing a highly-available, robust and secure IT infrastructure including support for the network and server infrastructure, telephony, network operating systems and applications.

Specifically, you will:

  • Assist in maintaining information security policies and procedures and to ensure that the security strategies are being followed, so as to meet the organizational security goals and standards.
  • Provide high quality customer support to both external and our internal customers via phone, email and support tickets.
  • Work with other teams to identify, resolve, and mitigate vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Work to solve security challenges at scale while balancing usability, stability, scalability, and performance.
  • Assist in establishing network specifications/standards by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Support administration and installations/upgrades of network hardware and software.
  • Support administration and installations of firewall, SDWan, hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot network and firewall problems.
  • Contact and coordinate with external suppliers (i.e. logging support calls, working with network consultants).
  • Work closely with DevOps and Software teams to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
  • Design and develop security architecture for cloud and cloud-hybrid based systems.
  • Implement cloud-native architecture that will allow business requirements to be met with a minimal degree of risk to TuGo and with appropriate security controls present
  • Participate in incident response exercises: detection, investigation and recovery as well as assisting with incident response plans and root cause analysis.
  • Achieve performance targets.

What you'll bring

  • A university degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field
  • 4+ years of technical experience in the information security field, computer systems / network engineering. Familiarity with a globally recognized Security Framework / Information Security Management System (NIST, ISO27001, SSAE 16 / SOC, PCI)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • CISSP, CCSP, CISA, CISM certification(s) are preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of Internet Protocols, Networking (LAN, SD-WAN), TCP/IP, AWS, and SaaS applications
  • Ability to read and understand system, OS (Windows, Linux) and application log files
  • Experience and familiarity with various technologies (i.e. IDS, IPS, VPN, WAF, DLP, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, SEIM, Vulnerability Scanners, Web Proxies, Firewall, MFA, key management) in a heterogeneous computing environment that spans physical and virtual data center
  • Advanced knowledge of information systems security concepts and technologies; network architecture; general database concepts; document management; hardware and software troubleshooting and security tools
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Unix/Linux, Mac and Windows operating systems and OS hardening
  • Experience automating the administration of systems through scripting and APIs an asset
  • Working knowledge of one or more programming languages (Java, Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Bash, PHP, Perl, Java, .Net) an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to perform independent analysis and distil relevant findings and root cause
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
