We’re a team of specialized experts, dedicated to first-class customer service and claims assistance. We’re looking for a Claims Clerk to join this team, in our Richmond, BC office.

TuGo is privately owned with headquarters in Richmond, BC. We have over 170 employees in offices across Canada.

What you'll do

  • Perform a variety of clerical duties in an accurate and timely fashion within established standards, guidelines, and time deadlines. This includes some combination of the following: •Process all incoming and outgoing mail. Open and date stamps incoming mail and files according to claim number.
    • Compile and send claim forms to travellers, including follow-up letter and additional claim forms when needed. Open new claims as needed. Create new files and face sheets.
    • Enter data into system.
    • Process outgoing cheques by preparing cheque run and bank drafts, review and file printed cheques, and update Phoenix with wire information; may follow up with the Bank, Technology team or Accounting team regarding system problems.
    • Generate various automated letters including: requests for medical records, medical histories, itemized bills, denial letters, no-reply letters, EOBs, etc.
  • File open, closed, and pending files accurately and appropriately; assist examiners with file retrieval as needed.
  • Act as 10th floor Receptionist when needed.
  • Provide clerical assistance to other departments as required.
  • Achieve performance targets.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and all other teams.
  • Responsively and effectively handle issues.
  • Look for ways to improve customer experience.
  • Promote and model TuGo culture, values, and brand promise.
  • Continuously build professional and technical expertise.
  • Other duties as required.

What you'll bring

  • Completion of a business-related post-secondary diploma an asset
  • Previous administrative experience including word-processing and data entry
  • Ability to process a high volume of work and meet tight deadlines
  • Able to lift 25-30 pound bin files
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong team player and positive contributor
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and able to learn applications quickly
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
